Projects Implemented

From the day of its creation in December 2005 CA "Pro-Trebujeni" implemented and continues to implement a number of community and national projects, in which were attracted local contributions and donations from international organizations. All the projects were implemented with work of volunteers from the community and financial contributions of citizens, economic agents, local public administration and CA "Pro-Trebujeni".

Outdoor Leadership Center

In 2008 main activity of the association was related to creation of the Outdoor Leadership Center. A team of facilitators was built. From own resources was paid professional training of these trainers at the Outward Bound Romania ( www.outwardbound.ro , www.outdoortraining.ro ), in the field of outdoor experiential learning. In addition they received training in first medical aid (Basic Life Support), again from own sources. Was launched the process of accumulating material basis of necessary equipment and gear needed for work of the Center. In parallel was organized a promotional campaign with printing and distribution of informational booklets, calendars. Also a web site was created ( www.team-building.md ).

Was also accumulated considerable practice through trainings in Moldova, Romania, Denmark, USA.

In 2008 with Outward Bound Romania was signed a partnership agreement. Was formulated a project of trans-border collaboration, which was submitted for European Union Funds for Foreign Actions. Name of the project "Outdoor Education Alliance". Objectives of the project included: 1) Promotion of values of European Integration. 2) Development of a partnership of teams and organizations with a common philosophy and practice on both sides of river Prut. 3) Absorption in the RM of modern educational methods and practices. Since this project did not pass the selection for financing from EU funds, it was implemented at a lower scale. Team participating in the project made an exchange visit on 1-5 July 2008, which included also an expedition throughout Moldova. Since then trainers of the Outdoor Leadership Center regularly participate in co-facilitating trainings at Outward Bound Romania.

Improving access to information

In order to improve the activity of the Community Information Center Trebujeni, as well to facilitate access of citizens to information, Civil Association "Pro-Trebujeni" formulated a project, which was submitted to the Committee of the US Embassy for Democracy Small Grants, requesting a total sum of USD 1 262.00.

Analyzing the contents of the proposal, the grant Committee decided to increase the sum of the grant up to USD 1 700.00, which was obtained in 2006.

The project was implemented in 2006-2008. As a result of implementation of this project, the Information Center was equipped with:

- translating and explanatory dictionaries of Romanian, Russian, English languages, some being in electronic version;

- 12-18 months subscription to periodicals, including professional or in the educational field, from Moldova, Romania, Russia;

- supplementing equipment for Informational Center.

Renewing the Community Information Center

Due to work contributions of the members of the association and volunteers from com.Trebujeni, with financial assistance from UNDP and the mayor office of the commune, was repaired the Community Information Center, located in the mayoralty building of com.Trebujeni.

Total sum of the project exceeded MDL 50 000, out of which the grant from UNDP exceeded USD 2 000.

Nocturnal illumination

Within the project "Improving the environment of the commune in the area of the complex "Old Orhei", formulated and implemented by the CA "Pro-Trebujeni", the main street of the village Morovaia was civilized through installation of the nocturnal illumination. Total sum of the project made over MDL 35 000, out of which 40% financed from the UNDP grant.

INTEGRATED DEVELOPMENT PLAN

In 2006 CA "Pro-Trebujeni" participated in the elaboration of the Integrated Plan of economic development, management and territorial development of the commune Trebujeni and of the historical-cultural complex "Old Orhei". This work was done due to financing from UNDP, collaboration with the Local Council and Mayor office of Trebujeni, S.R.L. Institute of Arhitecture - Institute of Urban Development .

Community Information Center

According to the Strategy of Sustainable Development of the commune Trebujeni within the project Local Agenda 21, in partnership with Mayor Office of the com.Trebujeni and the UNDP, in 2005 was opened Information Center of the commune Trebujeni. It was equipped with 7 computers, one laser printer, copier, fax machine, office furniture for computerized working places. The Center was connected to Internet and offered information services to citizens of the commune Trebujeni, non-governmental organizations and to the Local Public Administration.

CA "Pro-Trebujeni" assumed administration of the Community Information Center.

Local Agenda 21

Local Agenda 21 is promoting and seeks to find a sensible balance between economic growth, social equality, and protection of the environment. Local Agenda 21 was elaborated and adopted at the World Summit in Rio de Janeiro in 1992, as one of the main instruments of promoting sustainable development. In collaboration with the Local Council Trebujeni, Mayoralty of commune Trebujeni, the United Nations Development Project, CA Pro-Trebujeni participated in implementation of the project Local Agenda 21. One of the important results was elaboration of the Strategy of Sustainable Development of the commune Trebujeni, which was later adopted by a Decizion of the Local Council Trebujeni.
